Mr Alzate is an Ambassador of the Colombian Diplomatic Service. He graduated in law from “Universidad Nacional”, Bogotá, and is an expert in international law.

Throughout thirty three years of diplomatic service, as a member or chairman of several delegations, Ambassador Alzate has attended an important number of international meetings and conferences on a variety of subjects including human rights, environment and development, international cooperation, bilateral and multilateral issues, law of the sea, and migrations.
Ambassador Alzate has been professor and visiting lecturer at several universities, including “Jorge Tadeo Lozano”, “El Rosario”, “Javeriana”, “Externado de Colombia”, “Bolivariana de México”, “Academia Diplomática del Perú”, “Academia Diplomática de Colombia” and “Escuela de Administración Pública”, amongst others.
